John
Jefferson
November 28, 1963 – October 11, 2021
John Fitzgerald Jefferson, known to many as "JJ," entered into eternal home on Monday, October 11, 2021 at the age of 57 years young.
Born the fourth of five children to McMurry and Virgie Jefferson, on November 28, 1963, John quickly embarked on a lifelong relationship with the Lord and his extended church community. After graduating from Eastern High School in Lansing, Michigan, John eventually found his niche in the transportation industry where he happily transported and protected hundreds of children daily. In 1996, he married the love of his life, Tiffany, and devotedly cared for eight beautiful children as a part of this union. In addition to caring for his own family, John constantly opened his heart and home to those in need and regularly filled the role of surrogate father, brother, and spiritual counsel for those he loved. Forever the loving husband, father, brother, uncle, cousin and friend, John never met a stranger nor missed an opportunity to speak positivity, blessings and love of God into the lives of all he encountered. Whether delighting palates with his culinary skills, taking aim with his faith piece 'Bernard,' imparting wisdom where needed or cruising down the highway on his hog (Harley-Davidson motorcycle), John made sure to give more than he took and shot straight from the hip at all times. If the measurement of a man's riches is based on the content of his character and the amount of love he gives, then John was one of the wealthiest men to live. John was known for spreading an abundance of love, guidance, hope and encouragement and will be sorely missed, but forever adored.
John was preceded in death by: his parents, McMurry and Virgie Jefferson; sisters, Patricia Jefferson and Rosalind Jefferson; brothers, Duane Jefferson and McMurry Jefferson; and son, John Jefferson, Jr. He leaves behind to cherish is memory: his wife, Tiffany Jefferson; daughters, Quandria Woods, Gabrielle Carradine, Latoya Thomas, Chaney Jefferson, Izlandria Jefferson, Layleonna Jefferson, and Tiffany Jefferson; sisters, Carolyn (Antoine) Smith, Crystal (Kwanta) Pugh, Nicketa Simpson and Karina Houston; nephews, Ramon (Crystal) Jefferson, Nonelius Jefferson, Antoine Smith II, Malik Smith, Zion Bodiford, and Kwanta Pugh II; nieces, Tontaleah Smith, Keyonte Robinson, TeShelle Edwards, Jacquelyn Houston, NiKyra Houston-Sorrells, Micah Smith, Khariana Houston-Sorrells; and a host of grandchildren, great nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, and friends.
