John Eddie Hill transitioned to be with the Lord on Sunday, December 17, 2023 after battling a long illness.

Mr. Hill was born to Roosevelt Hill and Cora L. Hill on June 17, 1958 in Lansing, MI. John attended Lansing Public Schools and graduated from J. W. Sexton High School in 1977.

John served his country in the United States Army from October 8, 1976 to October 4, 1979.

John loved the Lord and accepted him as his Lord and Savior. This last year, John received Hospice care, but you would never have known it. When asked, "How are you?" He would say enthusiastically, "I'm good!!! How are you?" He never complained or felt sorry for himself. He would say, "You know where I get my strength from!!" He loved talking about how good the Lord was and how he was blessed.

Mr. Hill was proceeded in death by: his father, Roosevelt Hill; his grandparents, Edward and Elizabeth Askew; his son, Shadd Lynn Hill; sister, Aniece Hill of Detroit, MI; brothers, Roosevelt Hill Jr. and Alden Michael Duane Judge (Al); and sister, Mary Elizabeth Hill (Liz).

Mr. Hill leaves to cherish his memory: his loving companion of 25 years, Julia Newton of Battle Creek, MI; step-children, Charles Boyd of Battle Creek, MI; Candyce Jefferson of Montclair, NJ; and Shanta (John) Smith of Battle Creek, MI; his mother, Cora Hill; sister, Patricia Ottarson; brother, Robert Hill (Bic); and sisters, Sharon Hill and Coral D. Hill; a host of nieces, nephews and cousins, all which loved and
cherished John; special son, Frederick Richardson (Pretty Ricky) of Albion, MI; and special friend of the family, Lisa Cox.
