JoaquinSolisHenriquez, Bebito, wasbornOctober 8, 1935 in Bayamo, Cuba toSifridoSolis De Leon and Margarita HenriquezHenriquez. Bebito was very restless as a child, rebellious, strong and fearless to danger, he would plunge himself from great heights down to the river, a risk few ever took. Margarita his mother struggled to educate him but he longed for adventure, seeking a better world, of his own criteria, he left his home, to travel and know other countries. Bebito was an officer to Fidel Castro in the guerrilla war and he escaped Cuba in 1970. In no circumstance he refused to be a communist fleeing Cuba with six other men in a patrol boat. Four of the men were killed in the escape and only three survived including Joaquin Solis Henriquez. He met his late wife Adina Araya Chavarria de Solis in 1971 North Hollywood, California. They married and had eleven children: Hazel, Joanne, Jessica, Jonathan, Joyce, Jantzen, Jihan, Jenny, Jicken, Jamie, and Jeffrey. Surivors include Grand Children and Great Grand Children: Shealy, Angie, Edward, Jacey, Joaquin, Lenin, Constantine, Aurelius, Ava-Bella, Octavious, Destiny, Alana, Saniah, Yazmin, Yosevette, Isaac, Jacob, Sukhjeet, Nayana, Donald, and Katherine. He will always be remembered for his free spirit, his constant need to live in the moment, his humor, and his talent for writing poetry and composing music.
