Joanne "Joan" McClain was born in Nashville, Tennessee on August 6, 1962 to the late Margie L. McClain and John Ben McClain.

Joanne went to school at Walter French, Lansing School District.

Joan was preceded in death by: daughter, Jemika Snaden; twin brother, John B. McClain, Jr.; and brother, John B. McClain, III.

Joan went to be with the Lord on September 2, 2020. She is survived by: daughter, Latanya Snaden; father, John (Shauneen) McClain; five sisters, Kerry Owens, LuWanda McClain, Janett McClain (Homer Jones), Dionne McClain-Smith (Gordon Smith), Jania McClain (Monte Civils); brother, Jevon McClain; grandchildren, Zytoriya Snaden and Roderigious A. Williams, Jr.; a host of nieces and nephews; special cousin, Katrina West; special friend, Howard Dear; and many other friends.
