Jesse was a proud member of the Wilberforce University (WU) class of 1972. He met the love of his life, Diana Reid, at freshman orientation. After graduation, they moved to Lansing, Michigan, where they enjoyed a wonderful life. 

Jesse had a long career in the insurance industry. He retired as a Claims Supervisor for Auto Owners Insurance. He was also very active in many civic groups and organizations in the Lansing community. He was a dedicated member of Trinity A.M.E. Church, serving as a Trustee and finance committee member, and participating in the Sons of Allen. Jesse was a proud member of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Inc., Lansing Alumni Chapter. He was deeply dedicated to his alma mater, Wilberforce University, maintaining a lifetime membership in the WUAA and serving as chaplain for the West Michigan Chapter. He was also honored to serve on the Lansing Salvation Army board. 

Jesse and Diana celebrated their 53rd wedding anniversary on July 8th. They were blessed to have been together for 58 years! Jesse is survived by his wife Diana, son Justin, and special granddaughters ShoShana and Zakia. Plus a host of family and friends.
