Jeffrey
Hawks
January 11, 1956 – February 19, 2019
Jeffrey Hawks, 63, of Lansing, formerly of Alpena, passed away on February 19, 2019 after a brief illness.
Jeff was born in Lansing on January 11, 1956 to Cecil and Helen Hawks.
Jeff was an Eagle Scout and a true outdoorsman, always ready to hunt, fish, or forage. He was keenly aware of the seasons; from the smelt run, to knowing when the partridge were drunk on dogwood berries, and the best spots for Moral mushrooms. Jeff was a music man who loved playing guitar, going to live shows, and buying the latest music out there. His music collection spanned over seven decades.
Jeff also enjoyed hockey, being a grandpa, and spending time with his daughter Angie, including her in many of his adventures. Jeff had a big heart and a kind soul! He was a person known for always helping others. He truly cared about people and animals.
Jeff is preceded in death by: his parents; brothers, Gary Hawks, Greg Hawks, and Thomas Hawks; and sister, Patricia Hawks.
Jeff is survived by: his daughter, Angela (Mitchell) Bromund of Presque Isle; two granddaughters, Josephine and Frances Bromund; brother, Patrick Hawks of Kalamazoo; his love and long-time companion, Kay "Kd" Davis; and many friends that will miss him dearly.
Jeff is being cremated and a private memorial will be held at a later date
