Jeanette Owens was born in Brookhaven, Mississippi on May 25, 1952 to James and Annie Bell Owens.  Jeanette spent much of her life in Lansing, Michigan.

She treasured spending time with her family when despite her quiet demeanor often shared her fun-loving and quick-witted sense of humor.  Jeanette had a strong eye and passion for style and fashion and was the envy of us all.  We have often said "when I grow up I want to look and be just like Jeanette!"  You were a role model for us all.  Until we meet again…we love you.

Jeanette passed away on December 27, 2017.  She was preceded in death by her father James Owens, daughter Tracy Yvonne Owens and sister Linda Faye Owens.

She leaves to cherish her memory: a beloved mother Annie Bell (Willie) Campbell; siblings Patricia (Sammie) Owens-Burton, Gifford Owens, Subrena Jones, Cynthia (David) Jones, Lisa Brandon, Londa Owens and Shaneeka Owens; sons Donnell (Maurice) Owens and Darrian Owens; grandchildren Darvin Bynum, Donnell Owens, DaMeka Smith and Nicholas Burtley; great-grandchildren Damere, Promise, Milan, Niylah and Kymauri; special friend Virgil Hall; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and several other relatives and friends.
