Jason Jarrod
Amos
August 18, 1976 – January 17, 2021
Jason J. Amos was born August 18, 1976 in Lansing, Michigan. Just minutes ahead of his identical twin, Brandon J. Amos. Jason was the third of four children born to Brenda Amos Richardson and the late James Amos. He was the younger brother to Tamra and Jane.
Jason was brought up attending Bethlehem Temple Church, where he was baptized in Jesus' Name and received the Holy Ghost at the age of 15.
Jason received his education through the Waverly School District, where he graduated from high school in 1995. After graduation, he answered the call to serve and joined the U.S. Army whereas he served his country on a tour during the Iraq War.
In 2010 and 2011 Jason welcomed two curious and energetic sons, Josiah and Jeremiah, whom he loved dearly. His sons changed his life. He was a proud, passionate and devoted father and his sons by far were his priority and greatest joy in life. He could often be found at his apartment helping the boys with schoolwork or playing video games. Wherever you saw Jason, you knew his boys were closely following.
Jason loved spending quality time with his family. He shared a special bond with his twin, Brandon. Jason enjoyed watching basketball, football and the latest movies. He was a loving, fun and dependable person, to both family and friends. Jason had a quiet, discerning spirit with a giant heart. Always deep in thought. He was compassionate and his willingness to give to others in need was apparent through his actions. He was determined and could conquer whatever he set his mind to do. His life was brief, but the impact is enduring.
Jason took his sunset on Sunday, January 17, 2021 surrounded by his loving family. He leaves to cherish his love and to celebrate his life: two sons, Josiah and Jeremiah Amos; a devoted mother and stepfather, Brenda and Bobby Richardson; two sisters, Tamra Amos and Jane Mallett of Farmington Hills, MI; two brothers, his twin, Brandon Amos and Graylin Porter of Columbia, TN; two nieces, Jessica Mallett of Yonkers, NY and Jenna Mallett of Brooklyn, NY; one great nephew, Rocco Mallett of Brooklyn, NY; one great niece, Elyse Aristide of Yonkers, NY; five aunts, Phyllis Calvin of Lebanon, TN, Linda Cathey of Columbia, TN, Joyce Cathey of Birmingham, AL, Dorothy (Clarence) Bellafant of Columbia, TN, and Mary Charlene Cooper of Columbia, TN; two uncles, Larry (Kim) Cathey of Anaheim, CA, and Robert (Martha) Amos of Columbia, TN; two step brothers, Bobby Jr and Anton Richardson; two stepsisters, Karla (Meico) Reese and Kristal (Troy) Aubrey; special cousins: Eric "Andre" McClain and Ken Gordan; and a host of cousins and friends.
