Pastor James Montree Mayo transitioned on Wednesday, February 15, 2012 at the age of 53. He was born to Willie B. and Marie Mayo, in Detroit, Michigan.. He was married to the love of his life, Rosemary Givens-Mayo for 12 years and pastored Jesus Saves Ministries for 7 years. He worked for Peckham Industries as supervisor of Janitorial Services and Shaheen Chevrolet prior to his illness and retirement. Mayo (as he was lovingly referred to by his family and friends) was known for his quick whit and humorous story telling ability. He loved cooking, singing, music, bargain hunting and spending time with his family. There was nothing more important to him than God, his wife, grandson and children. He was preceded in death by: his parents Willie B. and Marie Mayo. He leaves to cherish his memory the love of his life, Rosemary Givens-Mayo; daughters, Porchia of Detroit, MI and Faith of Lansing, MI; sons , James and LeRoy of Detroit, MI, and Jamison of Lansing, MI.; 1 grandson, Josiah of Lansing, MI: 2 sisters Linda (Gerald) Burton and Darlene Mayo of Detroit, MI. 2 brothers Robert Mayo, Anthony Mayo, A host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.
