Jacqueline Delores Bradford was born on January 30, 1934 in Lansing, Michigan, to her proud parents Fred C. and Dorothy J. Porter.

Jacqueline attended Lansing Public Schools and graduated from J.W. Sexton High School. She also attended Michigan State University. Jacqueline served 32 years as a Secretary at the State of Michigan. She also was employed 10 years at Walmart in Savannah, Georgia. Jacqueline was active in several community organizations and events serving as President of the Golden Girls Club, President of the Lansing Association of Women's Clubs and a member of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People (N.A.A.C.P.) of Lansing, and Savannah, chapters.

Jacqueline enjoyed traveling, watching Michigan State University Football games, and spending quality time with family and friends.

Jacqueline Bradford passed away on Thursday, February 25, 2016, at home in hospice care. Ms. Jacqueline D. Bradford was preceded in death by: her husband, Eber Bradford; her daughter, Judith Seaton-Sweezer; her parents, Fred and Dorothy Porter.

Ms. Jacqueline D. Bradford leaves to cherish her memory: granddaughters, Tammi (Clemie) Sweezer-Thornton, Jacqueline (Mitch) Sweezer-LaMund, Imani Sweezer and Nia Sweezer; great-grandchildren, Christian, Maridith, Josiah and Laurenzo; brother, Fred R. Porter; nieces, Teal, Lisa, Tracey and Aziza; nephew, Fred D. Porter; and a host of relatives and friends.


Ms. Jacqueline Delores Bradford will lie in repose Friday, March 4th, 1-7pm at Riley Funeral Home, 426 W. St. Joseph Street, Lansing, MI.  Funeral service will be held Saturday, March 5th, 10:30am at Trinity A.M.E.
