Mr. Ira Lamont Brand was born March 3, 1958 to Ira and Glenna Brand in Danville, Kentucky. He graduated from J.W. Sexton High School where he was known throughout the city of Lansing, MI for his basketball skills. Lamont was survived by both his parents; his brother Ryan (wife Dalana) Brand; daughter Yomonta (husband Raphael) Williams; grandkids (Ryah and Ryian-Taylor), nieces ( April, Arashon and Nyle) and nephews ( Ivery Jr., Ryan and Bryce) and other loving relatives and friends. Lamont was very passionate about sports and an avid gym shoe collector. He devoted much of his time and energy to St. Lawrence, which is now Sparrow Hospital. He will always and forever be missed, may he rest. Mr. Brand will lie in repose Monday, October 14,3-6pm, at the Riley Funeral Home. Funeral services for Mr. Brand will be held Tuesday, October 15, 11am, at the Riley Funeral Home 426, W. St. Joseph St., Lansing, MI 48933. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the funeral service.
