Mr. Ira Thomas Brand, known as "RT", was born on January 2, 1934 to John Brand and Lucille Mayes, went home to be with the Lord on Sunday, July 29, 2018 at the age of 84.

RT was born and raised in Danville, Kentucky and moved to Lansing, Michigan in 1962. He was an avid bowler, a painter and a very passionate artist.

He was preceded in death by: his sons, Lamont Brand, Diethric Brand and Dewayne Turner; his daughter, Shona Brand; his parents, John and Lucille Brand; his sisters, Margaret Reynolds, Johnetta Ewing and Linda Morris; and his brother, Johnathon Brand.

RT is survived by: his wife, Glenna Brand; son, Ryan (Dalana) Brand; grandchildren, Yomonta (Raphael) Williams, Arashon (Charles) Burnette, April Jones, Ivery Jones, Janeigha Boyd, Nyle, Ryan and Bryce Brand; eleven great grandchildren; his sister, Alyce Brand; along with many nieces, nephews and a host of extended family and friends.
