It is with great sadness we announce the transition of our dear mother, the lady of our life, our Queen Bee. Imogene Thomas was born to the union of Mary and Johnnie Burch on October 31, 1950. She was the second born of nine children.
She was baptized at an early age and became a member of St Paul MB Church of Blytheville, Arkansas.
Imogene attended Robinson Elementary School and graduated from Benton Harbor High School in Benton Harbor, Michigan.
Imogene was the mother of four children: Teresa Thomas, Albert W. Thomas lll, BJ Thomas and Bobbie PerDita Dunn.
She was employed by General Motors for over 30 years before retiring. She acquired special love and place in her heart for her General Motors family and co-workers. She was also a very successful Avon Representative.
Imogene had an immaculate sense of style and a love for all things fashion and handbags. She loved traveling to go shopping, and spending time with her family and friends.
Imogene was preceded in death by: her daughter, Teresa Thomas; her grandson, Dane Jeuwell Amon Mason; both sets of grandparents, Early and Carrie (Mack) Rowe, Johnny and Addie (Perkins) Burch; three sisters, Janelle Burch, Martha Thomas (Clarence Thomas), Sandra McDaniel; two brothers; Tyrone and Michael of Lansing, Michigan; and a very special mother in law, Mary Louise Thomas who she loved dearly.
Imogene was very active in her local church and loved her family.
She leaves to celebrate her life: one daughter, Bobbie PerDita Dunn of Lansing, Michigan; two sons, Albert W. Thomas lll and BJ Thomas, of Lansing; and son in-law, Jose Severino; grandchildren, Cherrelle Croffett, Laytwan Jackson, Raeesa Canon, Fatimah Canon, Muhammad Canon, Tayja Nash, Anesha Thomas, Abriya Thomas, Monae Thomas, Chatarra Robinson, AJ Jackson; great grandchildren, Ezekiel Jeuwell Amon Mason, Anthony Bermudez Jr., R'Riyanna Bermudez, Marissa Bermudez, A'Javion Bermudez, Nicholas Brown, JyReice Parker, Romeo Canon, Naliyah Canon and Jah'Viyon Young.
She also leaves to celebrate her life: a host of sisters and brothers, John Edward Burch, John Marcus Burch and Carl Davis, Florine (John) & Wanda Burkes.
Imogene also had a special love for her brothers and sister's in-law, Floyd and Lloyd Thomas, Lee Thomas, Barry Thomas, Ann Thomas, Terri McClinton and Rhaheem Abdulla. As well as a large number of cousins in Ohio, Florida, Missouri, Arkansas, Illinois, Colorado and California.
