Ida Mae Demyers transitioned to her heavenly home on Monday, January 23, 2012, at the age of 69. Ida was born to Jesse and Marina Crompton, in Lansing, Michigan. She was married to the love of her life, Clarence DeMyers, for 41 years. Ida gratuated from J.W. Sexton High School. She retired from General Motors after more than 26 years of dedicated service. Ida loved cooking, planting flowers and family gatherings. She also enjoyed shopping and loved jazz music. Idas world was centered around her family. There was no one more important to her after the loss of her husband, than her children and grands. Ida was extremely business oriented. If a bill cam in the mail, you better believe she would be taking care of it immediately. Ida was preceded in death by: her husband and parents. She leaves to forever cherish her memory: her son, Keith (Brenda) DeMyers; daughters, Tammy, Allique and Motif of Lansing and Sonia (Roger) Turner of Indianapolis, Indiana; 14 grandchildren: LaToya, Tavona, QuaTresha, Asia, Aarron, Lhaundale, Casniera, Allondria, Breanna, Brittany, Jamaal, Ciera, Roger Ray, Roger, Anthony Ray; 7 great-grandchildren, Deqaireus, Daireus, Jamaal, Adrian, Samara, Sonia, Jailyn; two sisters, Reverend Caroly, (Larry) Durbin of Charlott, Michigan and Barbara Crompton of Indianapolis and one brother, Jesse (Trina) Crompton of Albertslund, Denmark; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and close friends who were very near and dear to her heart; Lorna, Clara Plook , Delores and Shirley.
