Obituary

Henrietta Wiggins was born on July 20, 1952 to Homer and Lottie Petway in Camden, Alabama. She accepted Christ at an early age at Saint Francis Baptist Church. She attended Wilcox County High School where she met the love of her life, Freddie Wiggins. They relocated to Lansing, Michigan in 1972 where they raised three children, Rosie, Audrey and Freddy. Henrietta loved preparing her favorite dishes in the kitchen. She also loved spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. Henrietta had a big heart when it came to helping others. She has taken care of so many and loved her family with all her heart. Her favorite pass time was going to the casino. She was a fun person who loved life and making people laugh. She was preceded in death by; her parents, Homer and Lottie Petway of Camden, Alabama; and brother, Homer Petway of Detroit, Michigan. Our beloved Henrietta Wiggins went home to be with the Lord on August 11, 2015. She leaves to cherish her memory: her loving husband of 48 years, Freddie Wiggins and their three children, two daughters, Rosie Petway and Audrey Petway, both of Lansing, Michigan and one son, Freddy (Emily) Petway also of Lansing; seven grandchildren, Krystalyn Petway, Brianna Petway, DeAndre Petway, LaJamia Petway, Ashley Petway, Freddy Petway and Jada Petway; seven great grandchildren, Jaiyden Petway, La'Donte Jones, Jr., Kennedy Peterson, Ayva Cantu, Marcello Petway and Salom'e Petway; three loving sisters, Lottie (Tommy) Washington, Ruthie (Charlie) Shaw and Rosie (Maurice) Scruggs all of Lansing; three loving brothers, Jack (Maggie) Petway, Houston (Doris) Petway, both of Camden, Alabama, and Richard Petway of Lansing. She also leaves behind five sisters-in-law, Naomi Wiggins of Lansing, Jeanette Beverly of Connecticut, Liza Pendleton of Florida, and Lucy Wilson and Barbara Beverly, both of Lansing; one brother-in-law, Frank Beverly of Lansing; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends including special friends, Mary Torok, Patsylin Murray, Deanna Hofmann and Linda Cornish. She was loved by all and will be greatly missed. Mrs. Wiggins will lie in repose Tuesday, August 18, 2-7pm at the Riley Funeral Home, 426 West St. Joseph Street, Lansing, MI 48933. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, August 19, 12pm at the Riley Funeral Home, 426 West St. Joseph Street, Lansing, MI 48933. The family will receive visitors 30 minutes before services begin.
