Harry
Graham
November 9, 1949 – March 21, 2021
Born on November 9, 1949 to Margaret and Harry Graham in Johnstown, PA, Harry grew up in Pittsburgh, PA a faithful choir boy, alter boy, mother's loving son and die-hard Pittsburgh Steelers fan(atic). Raised by Margaret and Michael Lubawski along with siblings, Linda, Michelle and Steven, Harry developed a work-ethic that allowed him to excel in everything he decided to do. Graduating from Keystone Oaks High School in 1967, Harry attended Robert Morris University while working in various positions in the baking industry until he was promoted to ITT Continental Baking Company corporate headquarters in Rye, New York to embark on his life's work in a lengthy career in labor relations and human resources management. This culminated with a relocation to mid-Michigan to work for Schafer Baking Company and Perfection Biscuit Company before launching his own company, Graham & Associates: Industrial Relations Specialists, Inc. and providing consulting services to a diverse clientele in manufacturing, insurance, service sector and other industries. Having satisfied his goals in this arena, Harry later moved on to the retail industry to contribute his talents there and complete a lengthy, successful career.
Harry's passions were strong, varied and deep. He valued family, loving his daughters Nichole, Leslie and Natalie as only a "girl dad" can. Jokingly "outnumbered" at home, Harry loved Max, his treasured German Shepherd and "son." Having had his college education interrupted by a work opportunity, Harry went back to school years later and finished his bachelor's degree of business leadership, summa cum laude, at Baker College in Owosso because he promised his mother that he someday would. Harry loved being an honored guest in Maui, Hawaii, as the land, ocean, culture and treasured friends he made there spoke to his beautiful soul. A true romantic, Harry married his wife Sue there in a moving ceremony he planned over a year's time from the mainland and they returned over many years to celebrate each wedding anniversary and renew their "aloha." He treasured loving relationships with his extended family, being embraced by JJ, Natalie, John, Dusty, Beth and their families. His grandchildren Jenna, Kyan and Tony brought even more light, love and laughter into his life than he could have imagined. Harry's friendships made were deeply treasured and built to last, celebrated from time to time with a beer salute.
Harry enjoyed a variety of sports, both as a participant and a spectator. Boating on the Housatonic River and Long Island Sound, golfing with buddies and clients who quickly became buddies, playing high school basketball and sandlot baseball with childhood friends and following the Pittsburgh Steelers, from the Immaculate Reception to having season tickets after having to be convinced by the Steelers Ticket Office that they were not his high school buddy playing a joke on him over the phone. Naming his boat "The Steeler" and his Corvette's license plate "Stiller" (as it is pronounced in Pittsburgh), Harry truly loved his Pittsburgh Steelers football team. Music was another passion, from playing the guitar and singing in a band formed with high school friends to spinning an eclectic variety of tunes on his "victrola" in the living room for all to enjoy.
Harry lived and loved life to the fullest with gusto and without complaint. Not a fan of going out in the winter, Harry passed away on the first full day of spring, March 21, 2021. Aloha, Harry – Hana Hou (until we meet again)!
