Gonzalo Domacio Rodea
was born to Fernando and Patricia Rodea on July 10, 1984 in St. Johns, Michigan.
Gonzalo was a member of St. Therese Parish and accepted Christ before his passing. He attended Eastern High School and shared special interest, such as, golf and poker with his Father, Fernando Rodea, Sr., as well as bowling and playing video games with his brothers, nephews and close friends.
Gonzalo was loved by many and held a very special friend, Amanda Fry within his heart until his passing. With him throughout his 4 year fight, Gonzalo was surrounded, loved and cared for by dear friends, John and Jeremy Sharp, Diamond Wallace and many others.
Gonzalo's journey came to an end on May 5, 2016. Gonzalo shared this moment with his mother shortly before his passing by telling her "I'm going home".
Gonzalo was preceded in death by; grandfather's, Gonzalo Rodea, and Lawrence Moore; uncles, Gonzalo Rodea, Jr. and John Markman; aunt, Suzanne Mangles.
Gonzalo leaves behind: parents; Fernando and Patricia; sisters, Lori (Rhamel) Haygood, Tiffany Rodea, and Alonda (Corey) Dunning; brothers, Fernando Rodea and Jamie (Amber) Rodea; Gonzalo was a fun and loving uncle to his nieces, Rene Rodea-Bender, Chelsey Cobb, and Alonte' Haygood; nephews, Rhamel Haygood II, Noah Rodea, Andrew, Ethan and Keegan Dunning; and a host of special relatives and friends.
Mr. Gonzalo Domacio Rodea will lie in repose Sunday, May 8th, 4-7 P.M. at Riley Funeral Home, 426 West Saint Joseph Street, Lansing, Michigan. Funeral services will be held Monday, May 9th, 10:30 A.M. at St. Therese Church, 102 West Randolph Street, Lansing, Michigan. Family will receive friends one hour prior to the funeral.
