Glenn
Alward
June 19, 1937 – July 25, 2019
Husband, Father, Grandfather, Great-Grandfather, Brother, Uncle, and friend, received his angel wings July 25, 2019 surrounded by his wife and family.
Glenn Wardell Alward was born to William and Cecile Alward on June 19, 1937. He married Bethany (Cramer), they were to be married 65 years this September. They lived in Lansing and raised three daughters. During this time Glenn worked as a pressman at Speaker Hines, Spartan Printing, and the Legislative Service Bureau, where he later retired. Shortly after retirement they relocated up to Gladwin, in the Sugar Springs area. After a few winters of snow birding in Florida they decided to make Country Aire Village in Zephyrhills, Florida their permanent home. They resided there several years until this past March when they came home to Michigan because of Glenn's' Alzheimer's. He truly loved CAV park and the many friends they made there.
Glenn and Beth really enjoyed life and found fun where ever they were. Family and friends were important to him and he was always surrounded by them and enjoying their company. His favorite past-times included snowmobiling, motorcycling, and traveling the world. He and Beth toured the United States on their Honda Goldwing and loved every minute of it. He was also an avid golfer and a world class dancer.
Glenn was preceded in death by: his parents; brother James; daughter, Sheri LaRee Alward; and granddaughter, Sarah Caroline Secor.
Glenn is survived by: wife, Bethany; daughters, Stephanie Alward and Saragen (Mike) Gross; grandchildren, Matthew (Melinda) Spalding, Christopher Cockerell, Nicholas (Renae) Spalding, Jesse Cockerell, William (Efe) Cockerell, Michael (Ashley) Spalding; twelve great-grandchildren; brother, Delbert (Clara) Alward; and sister, Pauline (Gale) Heise.
