Gerry Smith Dillard was born October 29, 1947 in Lansing, Michigan to RJ and Julia Smith Dillard. She graduated from Eastern High School; she attended Lansing Community College (LCC) briefly and took many certification courses through General Motors. Gerry retired from General Motors after 30 years. She enjoyed playing softball and bowling.

Gerry Dillard, age 68, went to be with the Lord on Friday, August 26, 2016. She was preceded in death by her parents, RJ and Julia Smith; three sisters, Carol, Barbara, and Joyce Smith; special friends, Doris Jackson and Johnnie Camper.

Gerry leaves to cherish her memory and will truly be missed by: her husband of forty-nine years, George Dillard; two children, Darren Lee (Jacqueline) and Angela Le'Cole of Lansing, Michigan; six brothers, J.D., Tommie (Barbara), Robert, Curtis (Shirley), Jackie (Verna), Clyde (Patricia) of Lansing, Michigan; one sister, Marilyn (John) Walker of Jackson, Michigan; twelve grandchildren, Annescia, Miah, Kelsea, Willie, Diari, Adryan, Darrell, Destiny, Darren Jr., Mileah Dillard, Alaysha Minor-Wood, and Julius Evans; three great-grandchildren, Michayla Dillard-Williams, Leah Dillard, and Londyn Quesada; three brothers-in-law,  Johnathan Dillard of Luverne, Alabama, Charlie Turman of Lansing, Michigan and Jessie Davis of Bitely, Michigan; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
