Mr. George Stewart was born in Jefferson, Alabama, to Stella Johnson Stewart and Watt Stewart on December 6, 1949. George loved his family, cooking, watching ESPN, and always had people laughing. He preceded in death by his parents, Stella and Watt Stewart; brother, Billy Stewart; and grandchild, Ashley Dukes. Mr. George Stewart passed away September 12, 2015, in Lansing, Michigan. He leaves to cherish his memory: his wife, Debra Stewart; children, Yvonne Taylor, Yolanda Stewart, Patricia Ann Stewart, Karla Jackson, Gerard Bryant, George Bryant, and Vincent Whitfield; fourteen grandchildren six great grandchildren; brother, William (Loretta) Stewart; sisters, Annie (Charles) Rembert, Judy Jones, and Loretta Stewart (Billy's wife); four aunts, Lula Wright of Toledo, Ohio, Linda Lemon of Detroit, Michigan, Eva MacDaniels and Theola Thurman, both of Jefferson, Alabama; uncle, Robert Curtis Johnson of Gallion, Alabama; and a host of family and friends including special friend, Zack Lazzell. Mr. Stewart will lie in repose Friday, September 18, 1-6pm, at the Riley Funeral Home, 426 W. St. Joseph Street, Lansing. Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 19, 10:30am, at Greater Love Apostolic Temple, 505 Seymour Ave, Lansing, MI 48933. The family will receive friends 30 minutes before the service.
