Mr. George Augustus Halliburton, age 96, went home to be with our Lord and his beloved wife of nearly 50 years, Elnora Halliburton, Thursday, July 8, 2021. George was born in Ripley Tennessee, to the late Rev. Joe R Halliburton and Rosa Green. He was a resident of Lansing Michigan for over 50 years and Glenn Dale Maryland for 10 years. George retired from the Michigan State Health Department in 1985.

He was a  WWII Navy Veteran, has been the recipient of many civic, service, and community awards from American Red Cross and Sickle Cell Disease Organization. He also holds membership in: Friendship Baptist Church, Paradise Missionary Baptist Church and Village Baptist. George is also a proud brother of Omega Psi Phi Fraternity.

As man of God, he was an avid reader and devotee to the bible. He led many bible study discussions at churches he became a member of over the years which included close family and friends. George also loved sports and had a passion for bowling, golf, jazz music, walking, traveling, and volunteering.

George was preceded in death by: wife, Elnora Halliburton; parents, Joe and Rosa Halliburton; brothers, James, Louis and Charles Halliburton. He leaves to cherish his memory: his son and daughter, Renaye and Duane Halliburton (Alisa); brothers, William and Joe Halliburton; sisters, Ruthie Nelson, Lula Watkins, Margie O'Neal; grandchildren, Eldred and Sterling Gravely, Diamon, Jordan, Brandon and Paris Elnora Halliburton.
