Frank Lee Pettway was born on March 25, 1943 in Camden, Alabama to Edward Pettway, Sr. and Henrietta Garette Pettway. Frank was the second oldest of 11 children.

Frank attended secondary school at Camden Academy, and later, married the love of his life, Agnes Washington Pettway on November 21, 1967. They were married for 54 years, and blessed with two children: Frank Pettway, Jr., and Keith Lee Pettway.

Frank was into the Big Ten, and pro-sports such as basketball, football, and baseball. As long it had a ball in it, he watched it. He played pool, and he was very good at it. He worked for Oldsmobile at the Capitol Loop for 30 years and retired on September 2, 2002. He has both a 25 and 30 year ring of service.

On December 21, 2021 Frank transitioned with his wife, and sons by his side. He leaves behind to cherish his memory: his lovely wife, Agnes; sons, Frank, Jr and Keith; mother, Henrietta; siblings, Ineell, Bessie Jannie, Jimmy, George, and Willie; nephews; grandnephews; nieces, and grandnieces; brother-in-laws, Justice and Paul; sister-in-laws; Maryann and Dolores. He is predeceased by siblings, Edward, Jr., Ella Mae, Sara, and Katie.
