Frank John Kutas, Jr. The pitches were thrown, the bases were run, and the game was finished when the Lord called Frank John Kutas, Jr. home on July 1, 2015, at the age of 79. Born on October 23, 1935 to Frank Sr. and Elaine Kutas in Lansing, MI, Frank developed a love for baseball and fishing at a young age. He married the love of his life, Janis, on August 10, 1957. An avid baseball player and fan, Frank pitched for the New York Yankees and was a lifelong Detroit Tigers fan. In addition to coaching at Waverly and Sexton high schools and Post 205, he served as a regional director for PONY (Protecting Our Nation's Youth) baseball for 35 years, where he touched the lives of innumerable players, coaches, and families and made lifelong friends. He was a volunteer fireman for the Delta Township Fire Department for several years, in addition to a long and successful career as a builder and contractor. Frank took great pride in his grandchildren and great-grandchildren, with whom he was famous for his piggy-back rides and fried Blue Gill. Some of Frank's fondest memories were of his time spent fishing in Canada and summers on the lake. Greeting Frank in heaven were his wife of 43 years, Janis, and his parents, Frank Sr. and Elaine. He is survived by his children: Karen (Keavin) Grob, Martikay (Peter) Simonsen, Jim Kutas, and John (Lori) Kutas; grandchildren: Edward (Melanie) Lauermann, Laine (Hue) Henry, Breanna (Patrick) O'Keefe, Brandon Bath, Kristy (Joshua) Hussain, Misty Kutas, John Kutas, Tyler Kutas, Brock Simonsen, Kaileigh (Joe) Hitchcox, Amanda (Jereco) Price, Katie Kutas, Brogan Simonsen, and Jesse Kutas; and great-grandchildren: Samuel, Jordyn, Brynn, Rylee, Kaysen, Sutten, Liam, Aidan, Nolan, Tristan, Ariana, and Amaya. Also surviving are Frank's brothers: Robert (Joanne) Kutas, Richard (Pamela) Kutas, and Stephen (Carol) Kutas, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and great-nieces and nephews. The Kutas family gives their heart felt appreciation to the staff at Sparrow Hospice House. Donations may be made in Frank Kutas' name to Hospice House of Mid-Michigan at 1210 W.
