Florence (Flo, Holly) Hollingsworth our mother, grandmother, and great grandmother passed away August 18, 2020, at the age of 99.

She was prayerful, joyful, had a beautiful smile, and caring. If she knew, or even thought, someone needed something, she was always willing to help. Her children and their families were her treasures.

She loved playing Skip Bo and doing puzzles—the more pieces the better. She enjoyed music and loved to dance. She even had a special pair of red dancing shoes.

She was born in Breaux Bridge, Louisiana, October 1, 1920. She would have been 100 years old this year. She was preceded in death by: her mother, Yola Bell; brother, Willie Noel; daughter, Juanita Williams Goodlow; son, Frederick; and granddaughter, Michelle Davis.

She is survived by: her daughter, Lola (Anthony) Weatherspoon; son, Yolyn; daughter, Commilla Oliver; son, Milus; daughter, Lois Bufford; and son, Robert Jr. Florence also had 23 grandchildren and 29 great grandchildren.

A memorial celebration of Florence's life will be held Saturday, October 3, 2020, at the Francis Park Pavilion, 2600 Moores River Dr., Lansing, Michigan. Visitation with the family will be from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. The celebration of her life will begin at 11 a.m. If you plan to attend, you are encouraged to wear something red, her favorite color, in memory of Florence. Wearing a mask would also be appreciated.
