Mrs. Evelyn Kay Burgen was born May 19, 1941 in Lansing, Michigan to Clair and Bernice Newman. Evelyn was a loving wife, mother, grandma, sister, aunt and friend. She will be greatly missed and always be in our hearts.

She went to be with the Lord on Saturday January 14, 2017. She was preceded in death by: her parents, Clair and Bernice Newman; and sister, Mary Skaggs.

She is survived by: her husband of 58 years, Robert E. Burgen:  son, Robert C. (Holly) Burgen; daughters, Karen (Bill) Burgen, and Vicki (Jeff) Burgess; 7 grandchildren; 6 great grandchildren; one on the way; brother, Clair (Shirley) Newman; sister, Linda (Ed) Lotoszinski; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Evelyn lived for her family and friends. She tried to enjoy life and loved to be around her family and friends.  A very caring soul that loved crafts, Elvis music and collectables. She loved to play Bingo and go to Elvis Shows.  She will be greatly missed by all that knew her.

There will be Graveside services will be held Monday, January 23, 2017, 12:00 pm  at Chapel Hill Cemetery, 4444 Grand River Avenue, Lansing, Michigan. The family will receive friends from 10:00am ~ 11:40am at Riley Funeral Home, 426 West Saint Joseph Street, Lansing, Michigan.
