Ernest was born to Isom and Sarah [Alexander] Hudson on June 5, 1927 in Okolona, Arkansas.

After high school, he later joined the U.S. Navy on May 17, 1950 and served until he was honorably discharged on March 11, 1954. Ernest worked for the Michigan Department of State Police for 35 years and retired in 1989. He was also a real estate entrepreneur and very generous to others.
During the early 70's, he gave his life to Jesus Christ and was a member of St. Paul COGIC, which later changed to Robinson Memorial COGIC.

Ernest was known for his love of music and playing the saxophone. His favorite song to play was "There Is No Secret What God Can Do." He served many years as Sunday School Superintendent. During his later years serving in the church, he was an usher. Being in service for the Lord brought him great joy.

Ernest Hudson, 92, of Lansing, Michigan departed this life on May 17, 2020 surrounded by his loving family.

Ernest is preceded in death by: parents, Isom and Sarah Hudson; and sisters, Blanche Lock, Linnie Hudson, Lessie Baston, Beatrice Clement; and brother, Lacy Hudson.

Ernest married Nannie Virginia Wheeler, the love of his life, in 1963, who survives him and will miss him dearly.

Ernest will also be missed by: daughters, B. Renee Hudson, Sonya (Timothy) Dawkins both of Lansing, MI and Rhonda (Orlando) Blackburn of Bedford, TX; son, Justin (Tunisha) Hudson of Belleville, MI; grandchildren, Jacinda Dawkins, Janae Dawkins, and Taj Hudson; greatgrandchild, Ava Dawkins-Wise; brother, Willie (Dorothy) Hudson of Lansing; brothers-in-law, Calvin (Sarajane) Wheeler of San Ramon, CA and Abram Wheeler of Lansing; as well as a host of nieces, nephews, extended family and friends.
