Elsie Lousie (Weezie) Adams was born August 26, 1925, in Washington D.C. to Rev. Claggett W., Sr. and Eva Mae Ward.
Louise graduated high school in Washington D.C. and was employed at the Chesapeake and Potomac Phone Company (C&P); now Verizon.
She received Jesus as her Savior at an early age, and later rededicated her life to Him as Lord and "Oh, what a change". She was a spiritual mother to many young people who affectionately called her "Mom or Auntie Lou".
Louise purchased a home in Southern Maryland and opened it to assist unwed mothers. She was a pianist for teenagers at Emmanuel Baptist Church in DC. She also played for the Friendly Gospel Singers of the same church where her father was the pastor. Louise taught several to play the piano.
After retiring from C&P, she surprised her brother, Claggett, saying that she wanted to move to Lansing to be near him. However, Miss Weezie did not come to sit. Louise became a member of Grace Bible Baptist Fellowship in 1991, upon relocating to Lansing with her daughter, Antoinette. She became very active as a volunteer with the Lansing City Rescue Mission, and then was given the opportunity to be an employee serving as House Mother in the Women's Ministry.
Louise went to be with the Lord Jesus Christ on Sunday, February 14, 2016 in Lansing, Michigan. She leaves to cherish her memory: two daughters, Jacqueline Edith (Glen) Adams and Antoinette Adams; two brothers, Pastor Claggett W., Jr. (Sheila) Ward and Walter L. Ward from Washington D.C.; one grandson, William Christopher Adams; a special family friend, Pastor Roosevelt Bell from Temple Hills, Maryland; and a host of relatives and friends.
We are all thankful for her ministry in our lives!
