Ella D.
Burnett
July 14, 1944 – April 2, 2025
With hearts full of love and sorrow, we celebrate the beautiful life of Ella D. Burnett, who peacefully transitioned from this life, leaving behind a legacy of kindness, strength, and unconditional love.
Born in 1944 in Ripley, Tennessee, to Cuba Burnett and Queen Wilson, Ella was the heart of a large and loving family. She was one of seven siblings and is now reunited in eternal peace with her cherished brothers and sisters: Frank Burnett, Ora Lee Young, Albert Lee Burnett, and Doris Jean Bradford. She leaves behind two devoted siblings, Annie Gardner and Billy Bradford, who will continue to carry her memory forward with grace and love.
Ella's proudest accomplishment in life was her family. She was the devoted mother of five children: Patrick Burnett, Sean Burnett, Stephen Burnett, and her twin daughters, Meicha and Monica Burnett. She poured her heart into raising them, and in return, they carry her legacy with pride and gratitude. Her love also extended to her six grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, all of whom brought her immense joy and were the light of her life.
Ella dedicated 35 years of service to General Motors Parts Division in Lansing, Michigan. She loved her work and took immense pride in providing for her children. Her dedication and work ethic were matched only by her compassion. Whether you needed a kind word, a warm meal, or the very shirt off her back—Ella was there, without hesitation.
Her spirit was as warm and comforting as her mother's famous pecan pies, and her heart, as big and bright as the sun. To know Ella was to be loved deeply and sincerely. She made everyone feel like family.
Ella leaves behind a large circle of family and friends across Lansing, Detroit, and Tennessee, all of whom will miss her radiant presence. Though she has left this earth, her legacy of love, generosity, and strength will live on in the lives of all she touched.
Rest well, dear Ella. You were simply amazing—and always will be.
