Elinor Mildred (Dungey) Mitchell was born on September 27, 1938 to Garold and Cecyl Dungey in Lansing, MI. She married Charles A. Mitchell on June 3, 1961. She worked several years for the State of Michigan and the City of Lansing Mayor's Office. She departed this life on Saturday, October 24, 2015. Elinor leaves her best friend of almost 60 years and husband for 54 ½ years, Charles; her children: Melissa Mitchell-Dukes, Garold "Donnie" (Francine), Charles "Tyree" and Anita (Martin) Powell; grandchildren: Andre (Lisa), Dante, Shanise (Quan), Ferrin, Chavon, Tiffany, Rashawn, Jadon, and Jasmine; great grands: Destiny, Aiyana, GiGi, Kingston, Jase, and Avery; siblings: Betty Ballard, Geraldine Scott, and Lawrence (Larry); special nephew, Steven M. Dungey; God-Daughter, Mary Russell. Visitation will be Thursday, October 29, 2015, 12:00 noon - 4:00 p.m. at Riley Funeral Home, 426 West St. Joseph, Lansing, MI and from 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Trinity AME Church, 3500 West Holmes Road, Lansing, MI. Celebration of Life will be Friday, October 30, 2015 at 12:30 p.m. also at Trinity AME Church, 3500 West Holmes Road, Lansing, MI
