Obituary

Edward Bailey Williams, Jr. was born to Edward and Verno (Johnson) Williams on March 23, 1947 in Hull, Georgia. Edward graduated from Sexton High School in Lansing, Michigan in 1965 where he ran varsity track.

After graduation, he enlisted in the US Army and was honorably discharged. Ed married Theresa Miller-Williams, and added two sons: Marlon and Jevon. Ed attended a skilled trades program and then worked as a plumber and pipefitter, ultimately retiring from General Motors in 2012. After retirement, he enjoyed watching NASCAR, reading National Geographic, and spending time with his wife, sisters, brothers, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and a host of other family.

Ed and Shirley were married for 36 years before Ed was called home to eternal rest on April 28, 2026 in the comfort of his home. While we are saddened by his unexpected passing, we dare not question God's plans.

Ed was preceded in death by: his parents; brother, Thomas Williams; brother-in-laws, Leland Outlaw and Sanford Granberry; sister-in-law, Debbie Williams; grandson, Xavier Guy; and great-grandson, Major Colenberg.

Ed leaves to cherish his unforgettable memories: wife, Shirley Williams; children, Ursula Guy of Lansing, MI, Marlon Williams of Phoenix, AZ, Jevon (Nichole) Williams of Lansing, MI, Lolita Beard of Marietta, GA, and Brian Williams of Lansing, MI; siblings, Rosezene Granberry of Sterling, VA, Hazel Outlaw of Lansing, MI and Lee Williams of Lakeland, FL; sister-in-laws, Lilian Williams of Riviera Beach, FL, Bertha Chambers and Diane Walker of Little Rock, AR; and a host of nieces, nephews, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
