Edward "Ed" Earl Ross was born September 17, 1943 in Madison County, Mississippi to Adam and Elise (Morton) Ross.

Edward was also known as "Ed" by family and friends. Ed graduated from Farm Haven School. He accepted the Lord as his personal savior at an early age and was baptized at Pleasant Green Missionary Baptist Church in Canton, Mississippi. He was a member of Trinity A.M.E. Church of Lansing, Michigan.

Ed was employed at Lindberg Heat Treat, which later became Bodycote Thermal Processing; he retired in 2004 after thirty-six years as a truck driver. He enjoyed fishing, playing baseball, bowling, and spending time with his grandchildren.

Ed married Delores Chappell on June 5, 1980. This union produced one child and three grandchildren, all were the love of his life.

He was preceded in death by; his parents, Adam and Elise Ross; brothers, Henry Ross and Melvin Ross; sister, Nellie Mae Ross.

Ed departed from this physical world on Friday, January 15, 2016 at 4:25pm, to begin his eternal life with the Lord.

Ed leaves to cherish his memory: a loving, devoted wife of thirty-six years, Delores Ross; son, Ahmad Ross; three grandchildren, Aaron, Andrew, and Ahmina Ross; two brothers, James Ross and Willie Earl Ross both from Detroit, Michigan; sister, Irene Ross of Sharon, Mississippi; and a host of special nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Mr. Ross will lie in repose Friday, January 22, 2016, 6 - 8 pm, at Riley Funeral Home, 426 W. St. Joseph Street, Lansing, MI 48933.  Funeral service will be held Saturday, January 23, 2016, 1pm, at Trinity A.M.E. Church, 3500 W.
