Edward Everett Brackins, Jr. was born June 13, 1949 in Lansing, Michigan to Edward and Milderd Brackins. Little Eddie was the third born out of four children. Edward was educated in the Lansing School District. Afterward he earned his sheet metal journeyman card. Edward retired, after 30 years, as a sheet metal worker to further enjoy fishing and dedication to his family and friends. Edward had a passion for fishing and barbecuing. He was preceded in death by: his father, Edward Brackins, Sr.; his mother, Mildred Brackins; and sisters, Sheila Duvall and Myra Brackins. On September 24, 2013, Edward Everett Brackins, Jr. departed this life, leaving behind many to cherish his memory. He is survived by: his four children, Karla, Dawn, Darren (Carlena) and Jordan; seven grandchildren, Tajh, Ankilah, Toria, Jazzmine, Brittany, Aaron, and Darrian; four great-grandchildren, his youngest sister, Penelope (Theodore); mothers of his children, Veronica and Denise; and a host of cousins and friends. Edwards presence in the community and his love, wisdom, and humor will surely be missed. Memorial services for Mr. Brackins, will be held here at the Riley Funeral Home, Saturday September 28, 2013 at 11:00 am.
