Edna B. Hickmon was born on June 19, 1923 in Princeton, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Jiles Vannerson and Edna B. OHara Vannerson. Edna retired from Michigan State University in the Food Services Division and was a faithful member of Trinity AME Church. She also was a long-time member of the Eastern Star Queen Esther Chapter #8. She was a loving Aunt to Loretta, who will miss their many talks at the dining room table. She was preceded in death by: her husband, Ernest; parents; sister, Lucille; brothers, Harold and Bill. Edna went home to be with the Lord on June 23, 2012. She leaves to cherish her memory: her sister-in law, Peggy Vannerson; nieces, Loretta Covington, Mary Simon, and Betty Ann Sabree, all of Louisville, Kentucky, and Dorothy Scuzs of Las Vegas, Nevada; and many friends. Friends may visit Mrs. Hickmon, Wednesday, June 27, 9-6 pm at the Riley Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held Thursday, June 28, 11 am at Trinity AME Church, 3500 W. Holmes Rd. The family will receive friends 1 hour prior to the service.
