Dorothy Mendell, born June 2, 1925, lived her life in Michigan. She graduated from Alma College with majors in French and Education. She worked as a teacher and residential business manager. As a Potter Park Zoo Docent, she delighted visitors by holding parrots and letting tarantulas crawl up her arm. She loved animals and the environment. Two highlights in her life were seeing grizzly bears in Yellowstone and whales in New Zealand.

She was a caring mother, wife, and friend. She appreciated those that took care of her as she reached the age of 94. She is survived by her former husband, son, daughter-in-law, and grandson.

There will be no services held for Mrs. Dorothy Mendell.
