Debra Lynn
Spooner
April 14, 1956 – May 24, 2026
Debra Lynn Spooner (Debbie), 70, of Lansing, passed away peacefully on May 24th, 2026. She was born April 14, 1956, the second of four children to Howard and Carole (Gould) Spooner. Even when they were separated by distance, she always checked in on her siblings.
Debbie first attended Sexton and later graduated from Everett High School. As a young, single mom, she attended Lansing Community College and graduated from Michigan State University with a Bachelor of Science in Medical Technology. She worked in a physician’s office, laboratories at MSU, and for the state of Michigan.
Debbie loved music, fashion, and road trips. There was always music playing in the house or car and she could often be found dancing with her daughter in the living room. She was beautiful, smart, and fiercely independent. There was nothing she couldn’t do once she made her mind up.
Debbie is survived by: her daughter, Camille Jensen; grandsons, Tristan (Naomi) Farris and Payton Farris; and five great-grandchildren. She is also survived by: her older brother, Mike Spooner; younger sister, Rhonda Spooner; and younger brother, Christopher Kassouf; and his daughters Shawntal and Giuliana.
No formal memorial services will be held. The family simply asks that you hug those you love, share a fond memory, take a walk in nature, or even better, dance! Those who wish to celebrate her life may do so by donating to Child and Family Charities of Lansing.
