Deborah Norris, age 78, a long time Lansing resident, passed away surrounded by family, on Friday, June 22, 2018, in Franklin, Tennessee.  Deborah was born on July 14, 1939 to Reverend Andrew and Lillie Mae Smith in Anniston, Alabama. She grew up in the Triumph Church Kingdom of God in Christ and dedicated her life to the Lord at an early age. She retired from General Motors' Fisher Body Assembly plant after many years of service. Deborah loved family gatherings, cooking and storytelling. Her kindness and generosity enriched the lives of everyone she met.

Deborah is survived by: her children, Debbie Norris of Franklin, Tennessee, Ernest (Brandee) Norris Jr. of Antioch, Tennessee, Anthony (Sonja) Norris of Lansing, Michigan; grandchildren, Nathaniel Norris, Vincent Norris, Sierra Norris, Tyler Norris, Sydnee Norris; great-grandchildren; sister, Ruth Mims; brother, Andrew Smith; nieces; nephews; god daughters, Shelia Walker and Susan Moore; and friends.

She was preceded in death by: sisters, Gaynelle Miller, Sarah Edwards, Mary Dreuitt, Elizabeth Edwards, Bobbie Jean Mclane Jones; and brother, Jeremiah Smith.

Mrs. Deborah Norris will lie in repose Thursday, June 28, 2018 from 1-7 pm at Riley Funeral Home, 426 W St Joseph St Lansing, MI 48933. The family will receive friends from 6-7 pm. Funeral service for Mrs. Deborah Norris will be held on Friday, June 29, 2018 at 12 pm at Lansing Church of God in Christ, 5304 Wise Rd Lansing, MI 48911.
