Obituary

David Allen Crim passed away surrounded by his loving family, leaving behind a legacy of hard work, devotion, humor, and kindness that will continue through the many lives he touched.

David was born to Max and Marjorie Crim. He was also a loving brother whose bond with his family remained important throughout his life. David was a devoted husband to Rosa Crim for over 40 wonderful years. Their story began in the summer of 1984 at an Orange Julius, where David met Rosa while delivering potato chips. A core memory that began a lifelong love story built on loyalty, laughter, and family.

David was the proud father of five children: Justin, Joshua (Alyssa), Jerek (Kayla), Yolanda (Seth), and Jason (Andrea). He was also a cherished grandfather to Dakota, Tyler, Peyton, Meliah, Amelia, Santiago, and Theodore, great-grandfather to Kingston and uncle several nieces and nephews. Family meant everything to David.

David was known as a hardworking, honest, compassionate, and loving man who endlessly sacrificed to support the people he loved. He spent over 30 years as a truck driver, including more than 20 years with Ryder, providing faithfully for his family through years of dedication and countless hours on the road.

Outside of work, David enjoyed life’s simple pleasures. He was a passionate fan of the Chicago Bears and especially rooted for the Chicago Cubs. One of his greatest joys was getting to see the Cubs reach the World Series during his lifetime. He loved music and could often be found enjoying his favorite songs, old-time radio programs, books on tape, and talk shows that brought him comfort and entertainment through the years. He also had a remarkable talent for trivia and was known for remembering facts and details that amazed those around him. David loved ice cream and sweets of every kind and found joy in the little things that made life meaningful.

David will be remembered for his steady presence, his patience, and his ability to make people laugh with his dry humor and endless dad jokes…even the terrible ones. He was slow to anger, full of compassion, family-oriented, and a good son, brother, husband, father, and grandfather. His strength, selflessness, and quiet wisdom will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.

Though his family’s hearts are broken, they find comfort in the memories, laughter, and unconditional love he leaves behind. His legacy lives on in the family he adored and the countless lives he supported along the way.
