Obituary

On July 20, 2022 our loving mother was called home by her Lord, after a short battle with heart disease.

She was preceded in death by: her first husband, Edward D. Hodge; parents, Ronald E. and Beatrice W. Reed; in-laws, Raymond E. and Harriet J. Hodge; brother, Ronald F. Reed; second husband, Michael W. Dixon; and her best friend, Bud Puppy.

Danna spent her life on earth caring for others in a career of nursing, where emergency room nursing was her specialty. She had a love for camping (Pentwater will always be a magical place because of her), Michigan State sports, and all things family. There was nothing she wouldn't do for any of us, and she made sure we all knew it. Whether it was a cheerleading event, a hockey game, a baseball game, a softball game, a choir event, a graduation, or a great grandchilds birthday, mom/grandma was there for everything. She was very active at Haslett Community Church where she mentored many children through confirmation, led the Middle School Youth group, Middle School Sunday school, and was an usher on many Sundays when there was no one else to do it.

Danna is survived by: her children, Kari Hodge and Daniel (Brenda) Hodge; grandchildren, Craig (Angelique) Pitchford, Bayelee, Edie, and Cassidy Hodge; great grandchilden, her "littles" Olivianna and Beau Pitchford; sister, Pamela Ditchoff; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, "adopted" grandchildren, and amazing friends whom she considered family.

In lieu of flowers, donations to the family can be made to assist with expenses, contact Kari or Dan via Facebook.
