Obituary

Ms. D'Adriewne "DeDe" Pickett was born August 31, 1973 to Ms. Eva Mae Dillard and Mr. Ulysis Hinton.

D'Adriewne, AKA "DeDe", lived in Lansing, Michigan and attended J.W. Sexton and Everett High School, class of 1993.

After high school, DeDe went on to further her studies at many colleges getting her Bachelor's and Double Master's. She received her Ph.D. in Psychology at Capella University, a Masters of Arts in Counseling, Master of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Social Work all at Spring Arbor University. She studied for Executive Secretary at Trenholm State Community College, and Performing Arts at Lansing Community College. She went on to become a Developmental Disability specialist at LMH Community Mental Heath then started her own business as a Mental Health Counselor, Public Speaker, Mentor CEO Counselor, Community Organizer, Life Skill Coach, Motivational Speaker, and authored, "Single, but not alone."

DeDe was preceded in death by: grand grandmother, Marie Pickett Brown; grandfather, Jett Martin Pickett Sr.; sisters, Yvonne Pickett, Angela Kelso, Erica Holmes, Latisa Williams; brother, Edric Hinton.

She leaves to cherish her memory: grandmother, Elizabeth Pickett; mother, Eva Mae (Pickett) Dillard; father, Ulysses Hinton; children, Shariece Pickett, Sharian Pickett, Christopher Manning, Shayveon Johnson; many nieces and nephews she loved as her own, Sariah Pickett, Isaiah Pickett, Blake Pickett, Shatara Roper, Talon Roper, Rodney Pickett Jr., Ariana Pickett; brothers, Rodney Pickett Sr, Eric Hinton, Aron Holmes; sisters, Lasonya (Pickett) Roper, Patricia Pickett, Ashley Holmes, Alexis Holmes, Kyesha Burtley, Yolanda Hinton; grandsons, Elijah Manning and Ezrah Manning; aunts, Angela Andrews, Yolanda Wilson, Jetti Davis; uncle, Jet Pickett, Authur Lee Pickett, Joseph Andrews; and many cousins and friends she loved dearly.

DeDe accepted Christ as her savior at an early age and became a faithful member of Life Changers Christian Center for many years before joining her church family at Mount Hope Church in 2008. Mt. Hope was a church she loved and loved to fellowship at, she enjoyed the many mission trips she joined them on and enjoyed sharing her experiences when she returned. She took pride in helping others and gave from the heart. DeDe was a believer of believing in yourself, living your life on purpose, and you matter.
