Obituary

Cynthia Dianne Outlaw was born on July 22, 1958 in Chicago, Illinois to Irene Triplett-Outlaw and Willie Outlaw, the third of five children. Following the passing of her parents at a young age, she and her siblings moved to Lansing, Michigan, where they were raised by their grandmother, Emma Francis Casey.

Cynthia graduated from J.W. Sexton High school in 1976 and she married Robert Gordon, and to this union three children were born: Amika, Alisha, and DeLauren Sr. She was employed at Peckham for the last 13 years.

Cynthia was an avid reader who was known for her sharp sense of humor. She loved shopping, eating, and listening to good music from her personal record collection. She greatly enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, who were the light of her life.

She was preceded in death by: her parents Irene Triplett-Outlaw and Willie Outlaw; grandmother, Emma Francis Casey; brothers, Howard Triplett and Alfred "Freddie" Outlaw; uncle, Sam Triplett; aunt, Roxie Triplett; and cousins, Michael Triplett and Emma Lee Nolan-Triplett.
She is survived by: her daughters, Amika Gordon and Alisha Benjamin; son, DeLauren Gordon Sr.; granddaughter, DeLaurea Gordon; grandsons, Ke'sean Benjamin, Anthony Romphf, DeLauren Gordon Jr., and Jamir Benjamin; sisters, Janice (Ernest) Cabule and Dianne Triplett; brother, Minister Kenneth (Maxi-Lia) Outlaw of Darmstadt, Germany; nephews, Weylin (Teri) Looney, Antoine (Tamara) Triplett, Howard (Kayana) Triplett Jr., Jimmy Outlaw of Zurich, Switzerland, Jeremy Outlaw, Jayjaun Outlaw, Samuel Outlaw, Jordan-Jonah Outlaw, and Israel-Zion Outlaw all of Darmstadt, Germany; nieces, Alexandra Fleming, Danielle Cabule of Jersey City, NJ, Olivia Outlaw and Kay-Lia Francis Outlaw of Darmstadt, Germany; Nephew, Corey Cooper, Kimberly Outlaw, Carla Benton, August Triplett, Morgen Flowers-Washington; cousins, Suddie (Alvin) Holloway of Las Vegas, NV, Tenae Holloway of Las Vegas NV, Kolleen Triplett, Kelli (Cedric) Taylor of Las Vegas, NV, Alvin (Letisha) Holloway Jr.; special friends, Annie Burton, Pam Burton, and Bill Ames.
