Obituary

Curlee Bud Foster born in Little Rock, Arkansas, January 3, 1946, to parents, Lois Beatrice Foster, aka, ("sang"), and Curlee Bishop Curry.  Moving to Lansing, Michigan, at an early age, he attended Lansing Public Schools, graduating from Lansing Eastern High School in June of 1965.  In the fall of 1965, he became an employee of General Motors Plant 1 Division street in the Fire Maintenance Division, where he worked until retiring after 36.4 years in September 2001.

Curlee dedicated his life to serving others, he was the founder of the Southside Boys and Girls Baseball and Softball program for over 30 years, believing it was his responsibility and duty to give back to his neighborhood and community.

Curlee is survived by: his loving wife, Ruby Foster of 48 years; from their union, 2 daughters, Salome Foster of Lewisville, TX, Celeste (Adrian) Foster-Ordonez of Lansing, MI; a son, Curtis Foster of Lansing, MI; one granddaughter, Celina Foster, from Atlanta, GA; two grandsons Brandon Foster, and Mason Foster both from Lansing, MI. Two children from a previous marriage; son, Curlee (Tamra) Foster; daughter, Carolyn Foster, both from Lansing, MI; six grandchildren; and five great- grandchildren, all from Lansing, MI. Brothers, Anthony Curry, Don McCray, both from Lansing, MI, William (Monica) McCray 111, from Antioch, Tenn.; sisters, Geraldine Rush, Patricia Terry, both from Lansing, MI, Deloris Curry, Judy McCray, and Hazel McCray, from Harper Woods, MI, and Lisa McCray from Murfreesboro, Tenn; and from the first union a sister, Mary Johnson of Texas and brother Jerome Scott. Along with a host of nieces, nephews, relatives, and friends.

Curlee was proceeded in death by: his parents, Curlee Bishop Curry, and Lois Beatrice McCray; his grandmother, Lextie (Big Mama) Foster. His daughter, Anita Drake; his brother, Brian McCray; sisters, Stella McCray, Verna Jean Weakly; his aunt, Viola and uncle, GeGertha Washington.
