Obituary

Commie Walls was born in Oxford, Mississippi on March 16, 1940 to Louise Lawshee and Dave Walls.

Coomie accepted Jesus Christ at a young age while attending Greater St. John Missionary Baptist Church.

Commie will be missed by: two sons, Ronald (Tamara) Walls and Donald Walls; grandchildren: Jaikub, Robert, Casimir, Mikayla, and Sophia; and brother, Leroy Campbell.

Commie joins: son, Commie L. Walls, Jr.; grandson, Bradley Walls; his mother, Louise and step father, Anthony Gulley "Daddy T"; and brother, James E. McEwen.

Commie graduated in 1959 from South Bend Central High where he played basketball, football and ran track. As a football athlete, he helped win two consecutive football state titles in the Northern Indiana Athletic Conference. Walls was part of the most impressive fast backfield in South Bend's schoolboy history known as the speed and power  "W-boys" and "running giants". Walls was a running back with (Joe) Wesley and (John) West. This trio also dominated the track field in winning State Championship. As an All-State athlete, he later attended Northwestern College. He retired as a supervisor from Whitehall-Robins Healthcare in Richmond, Virginia.

There will be no services held for Mr. Commie Walls.
