Clare Mae Bennett was born on April 24, 1931, to her parents Lee and Emma Benson in Lansing, Michigan. She departed this life on September 16, 2021 at McLaren Hospital, Lansing, Michigan.

She was a graduate of Lansing Eastern High School in 1949. Clare also completed certification at Lansing Community College in Practical Nursing. She was employed for many years at Lansing Sparrow Hospital as a surgical nurse. She later moved on and was employed by several doctors as their office nurse until retirement.

Clare accepted Christ at an early age and was a dedicated member of Mount Zion All Nations Bible Church. Over the years she served her church in several capacities: Financial Secretary, Choir member, Nurses guild, Deacon board, and Mother's Board.

Clare was preceded in death by: her parents, Lee and Emma Benson; brothers, Leo Benson, Richard Benson, Arthur Benson, and Wendell Benson; sister, Joyce Franklin.

Clare leaves to cherish her memory: children, Bradley (Stacy) King of Romulus, MI, Douglas (Bertha) King of Norfolk, VA, Mark (Rose) King of Lansing, MI, Lisa (Tony) Daniel of Lansing, MI; grandchildren, Marque King, Teresa King, Phillip King, Brian King, Arianna King, Joshua King, Matthew King, Marcellus Williams, Emmanuel (Tenisha) King, Alonzo King, Donnel Harris, Nic Harris, Felicia King, James Johnson, Quinton Baptiste, Anthony Daniel, and Colin (Tianna) Daniel; several great grandchildren and a host of cousins, nieces, nephews, and church family.
