Obituary

Christopher B. Witt, 56, of Lansing, beloved husband, son, father, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away Thursday morning following a motor vehicle accident.
Chris was born in Lansing on November 13, 1959 and was a 1976 graduate of Everett High School. He earned degrees in Agricultural Engineering from Michigan State University and the University of California, Davis.  He was employed by Metalist International, and had  previously worked for Fasco in Eaton Rapids and Munters in Mason.
On July 7th, 1990 Chris married the love of his life, Angela Kirtley, in Greenville, beginning their 26-year journey together.
Aside from his family, Chris' chief passion was anything Oldsmobile – especially the 442 series and the Rocket engine.  Known as the "Rocket Scientist," he was a priceless and generous source of information and parts for Olds enthusiasts around the region and the country. A friend recently summed up Chris' contributions by asking, "Why do I need a service manual? I have Chris!"
Chris was preceded in death by his father, Albert Witt, in 1993. He  is survived and sadly missed by: his wife, Angela; sons, Daniel, Michael, and Wesley of Lansing; mother, Marvella Witt of Lansing;  siblings, Mark (Kathy) Witt of Rockford, Elizabeth Witt (Rev. G. Travis Downs) of Laingsburg , and John Witt of Ovid; several nieces and nephews; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A Memorial service will be held Tuesday, August 9th, at 11:30 a.m., at Trinity Lutheran Church, 501 West Saginaw Street, Lansing, Michigan .
