Mr. Cecil Andrew Willheart was born on April 26, 1950 in Hardin County, Savannah, Tennessee to the late John Douglas and Louellen Willheart. He was their only child. He professed his love for Christ at an early age and began his service attending Sunday School classes and weekly church services at St. John Baptist Church in Savannah. Cecil was educated in the rural community of Savannah. He attended Dunbar School and graduated from Hardin County High School. After graduating from high school, he joined the Peace Corps. When he finished his tour with the Peace Corps, he moved to Lansing, Michigan, where he worked for Oldsmobile Corporation until he retired. While working at Oldsmobile, he married Allie B. Willheart. To this union, two children were born: Cecil, II and John Douglas Willheart. Cecil joined Paradise Missionary Baptist Church. He directed the Male Chorus and was a faithful member until his health failed. Cecil was preceded in death by: his daughter, Dina Willheart Williams; son, John D. Willheart; and his parents. On Sunday, February 1, 2015, Cecil Andrew Willheart quietly and peacefully went to his heavenly home. Survivors include: his son, Cecil A. Willheart, II; grandchildren; uncle, Joe A. Sevier; aunts, Mattie Sevier Miller and Ann Higgins Smith; devoted cousin, Willie Davis; and numerous other cousins, devoted friend, Ether Johnson; play-sister, Pat Hawkins; other relatives and friends. Known for his generous spirit and charisma, his mentees and loved one are a living testament of his character, humility, and willingness to help others. Mr. Willheart will lie in repose Thursday, February 5, 3-6pm at the Riley Funeral Home, 426 West St. Joseph Street, Lansing, MI 48933. Funeral services will be held Friday 6, 12pm at the Riley Funeral Home, 426 West St. Joesph Street, Lansing, MI 48933. The family will receive visitors one hour before services begin.
