Carolyn Doris Jones of Lansing, Michigan passed away Saturday, May 28, 2016, after a lengthy illness. She was born November 26, 1929 in Lunenburg County, Virginia. She was the daughter of the late Paul and Beulah Smith. Carolyn was a resident of Ossining, New York for many years before moving to Lansing, Michigan.

Carolyn enjoyed being with her family and many friends. She was predeceased by: her husband, Sydnor (1974); daughter, Patricia Young (1991); 4 sisters, Mary Cheatum, Maria Smith, Annie Bristol and Ruth Jones; 3 brothers, Paul, William and Thomas Smith.

She survived by: 3 sons, Paul (Elizabeth) Jones, Billy (Geri) Jones, Richard Jones and Christopher Jones; 1 daughter, Sandra Smith; 3 grandchildren, Brandon Smith, Paul Ryan Jones and Elizabeth Ashley Jones.

At the family's request there will be no visitations and a private funeral will be held for Carolyn. She will be lovingly remembered and never forgotten.
