Carl Lawrence King was born in Wichita Falls, Texas on June 1, 1927. As a young man, he relocated to Michigan, where he built a life rooted in hard work, dedication, and family. Carl proudly worked for General Motors for 36 years, contributing his skills and commitment throughout his career. He was an active member of Trinity African Methodist Episcopal (AME) church in Lansing.
Carl will be remembered most for the love he shared with his family. He is survived by: his only child, Lisa Rene King of Frederick, Maryland, daughter of Gloria (Nelson) King; his stepchildren, Marsha and Kim Jones; grandchildren, including Marquita Jones, Tanaya Jones, Raeana Jones, and Kyle Robinson all of Lansing. Also, Mikah Jones of Tennessee and Jeremy (Sha’Kira) Robinson of Georgia along with many other grandchildren; and a growing legacy of great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by: his first wife, Gloria (Nelson) King; and his second wife, Mary (Jones) King.
Carl’s life reflected steady strength, faith, and devotion, and his memory will continue through all who loved him and those who carry forward his legacy.
