Mr. Calvin Allen Sr. was born October 14, 1948, to Fred & Alberta Allen in Lansing Michigan. He was called home on May 24, 2022, on his mother's birthday at home in the company of his loving brother Eugene Allen. Calvin graduated from J. W. Sexton high school, then at age 19 he was drafted into the military where he was later given an honorable discharge. Calvin accepted Christ at an early age and under the pastorship of Rev A. E. Flannagan he was an active member of the usher board at Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church. Calvin was married twice, his first wife was Bondetta, they married in 1979 -1980 and then he was married to Laura in 1985.

Calvin enjoyed working and committed over 30 years at General Motors where he retired, after retiring he moved to Albion, MI where he bartended at Atkins Lounge and also worked at the local snack shop. Calvin known by many as "Big Calvin" & "Brother Boy," loved to bar-b-que, have friends and family around and listen to the blues. He enjoyed a cold "miller lite," a nice sunny day, and positive energy around him. He attended graduations, open houses, family reunions, family events, weddings and more with a smile on his face, and was excited about the growth in the family. Calvin always had a good joke and a caring heart.

Calvin was preceded in death by his parents: Fred and Alberta Allen; sister, Christine Owens; brother, Charles Gilbert Allen; grandchild, Ty'Aire Allen as well as many other loving relatives. He leaves to cherish: wife, Laura Allen; four children, Calvin Allen Jr., Eugene (Amber) Allen both of Lansing, MI, Michele (Jonathan) Johnson, Stephanie Johnson both of Albion, MI; two brothers, Eugene Allen and Lester More Allen both of Lansing MI; two sisters, Mary Ruth Watson, and twin sister Cathleen (Johnnie) Kinsey also both of Lansing MI; 21 grandchildren, Tyzjha Allen, Calvin Allen III, Tyzjohn Allen, Tylend Allen, Zyaire Allen, Zyriae Allen, Treson Arnold, Jacain Allen, Jazarie Allen, Anyla Allen, Eugene Allen Jr.Nasir Allen, Ambrose Allen, Isaiah Allen, Isaac Allen, Eumirr Allen, Daizha Johnson, Daiziyah Burch, Diara Birch, Ivoryonnia Green, Willis Vaughn Jr.; three great grandchildren, Dekareya Whitten, Iman Green and baby Johnson; a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends; special friends, Augustine and Mary Cooper and their families, Larry Golden (Goldies) Alan Sims (Bubba), King Roberson, Edger D.

Calvin loved his family and friends and left knowing his name will be carried on and his imprint he left in people's hearts for even longer. Calvin lived life!
