Bonnie Wilson was born on December 17, 1943 to Jim and Edith Wilson in Apex, North Carolina. She was raised in Durham, North Carolina and moved to Lansing, Michigan in 1960. She was a member of Jesus of Nazareth Church in Holt, Michigan.

Bonnie was preceded in death by: her father, Jim Wilson; mother, Edith Wilson; brothers, Odell Wilson and Larry Wilson; nephew, Russell Brown; and nieces, Evette Wilson and Quarterria McClinton.

Bonnie leaves to cherish her memory: four children, Cheryl Wilson, Jimmy Porter, Latania McKinney, and Jerome Alston, Jr.; six grandchildren, Jawon Randles, Torion Chandler, Destenee Porter, Zoey Porter, Jimmy Porter III, and Jada Porter; four great-grandchildren, Arianna Randles, Aniya Randels, Elijah Porter, and Jeremiah Porter; sister, Margie Wilson; brothers, Joseph (Mary) Wilson and Anthony Wilson; two special friends, Nathanial Hall and Charles Pitts; along with a host of other nieces, nephews, relatives and friends, whom she loved very much.
