Betty Jo was born on September 17, 1943 in Alden Bridge, Louisiana to the union of Willie Lee and Nellie Mae Taylor. She accepted Jesus as her personal Lord and Savior, at an early age. She graduated from C.H. Iron High School in Benton, Louisiana. After graduating, she married Jimbo Robinson, Jr. and had two children, Antonio Wayne Robinson and Tammie Tornette Robinson. She moved to Lansing, Michigan, where she cared for her family. Later, she remarried Bill Perkins and worked in banking services for over 20 years. In the early 1980's, Betty Jo Perkins relocated to Los Angeles, California, where she became an active and faithful member of Friendly Friendship Baptist Church. There she served as an usher, choir member, Sunday School teacher, and Matron. She enjoyed fishing, sewing, spending quality time with her family, teaching and studying Gods word. Betty Jo was preceded in death by: her mother, Nellie Mae Taylor; father, Willie Lee Taylor; brother, Willie Taylor, Jr.; sister, Merlene Brooks; brother, Thomas Taylor; and niece, Jackie Jerzak. On Tuesday, December 11, 2012, the Lord called her name to rest. She will be deeply missed by her remaining sister, Mary Louise Goines; brother, James Norton Taylor; children, Antonio Wayne and Tammie Tornette; grandchildren, Ebony, Darryl, Darnell, Shaundrea, Tonika, Tara, Antonio, Jr. (Ju-Ju), Hannah, Rissah; and several great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. Funeral Service: Thursday, December 20, 1 pm at Solid Rock Full Gospel Baptist Church, 2410 S. Pennsylvania Ave. Family hour 30 minutes prior to service
